I always wonder why a company makes products with very similar specifications as to their existing products. It turns out, it is some marketing stuff to gain more market share. The logic behind it is too complicated for my brain so I simply stopped reading 🙂
The reason why I wrote the above is; Evolution 100 and 150 disposals are very similar. The same goes for 200 and 250.
So I wanted to make sure that those people who are planning to buy any of these food waste disposals know what they are buying.
So here we go;
InSinkErator Evolution 100 vs 150 – Differences & similarities

InSinkErator Evolution 150 comes with 2-years more warranty than the Evolution 100 model. This is the only main difference between these two food waste disposals. Evolution 100 has a warranty period of 5 years whereas the Evolution is covered under a 7-year warranty.
Another difference between these models is the exterior design. The Evolution 150 is a special edition disposal which is exclusively available from premium kitchen retailers. It is given a slightly better look with a premium black trim when compared to the Evolution 100 disposer.
The 3rd difference is that the Evolution 150 disposer comes with an SS stopper with cover for the sink whereas the Evolution 100 model has a sink strainer instead.
All other specifications of these two garbage disposals are the same. Both 100 and 150 models are powered by a 3/4 HP motor. Both models have the same exact features; 2-stage grinding, quieter operation, Auto-Reverse technology, and a built-in air switch. Both models have the same dimensions; 312 mm in height and 205 mm in width.
Here is a table for a quick comparison of their specifications;

Which is better – Evolution 100 or 150?
My personal opinion is that Evolution 150 is better purely because you get a 2-year more warranty for a little extra bucks. Their performance and build quality are exactly the same, and technically both are going to last for the same span of years, it is basically a choice of getting 2 additional years of warranty.
InSinkErator Evolution 100 vs 200 – Differences & similarities

InSinkErator Evolution 200 is a much more advanced disposal unit than Evolution 100. Both are premium models but they have more differences than similarities.
Here are the differences;
- Evolution 200 is bigger than Evolution 100. Evolution 200 has a height of 344 mm and a width of 234mm whereas Evolution 200 is slightly smaller with dimensions 312×205 mm.
- The large size of Evolution 200 allows it to grind more food wastes; it has a chamber capacity of 1180ml whereas Evolution 100 (& 150) can accommodate only 1005ml.
- Evolution 200 comes with a 3-stage grinding system whereas Evolution 100 has only a 2-stage grinding system. This allows the former to grind the food wastes to a much finer size than the latter.
- Evolution 200 comes with a power booster circuit that detects the possibility of jams and increases the torque of the blades accordingly to cut through them. This feature is not in the Evolution 100 disposer.
- The SoundSeal technology (the technology that is used to make the disposer quieter) is more advanced in the case of Evolution 200. It is quieter than the Evolution 100.
- The warranty for Evolution 200 is 6 years whereas that of Evolution 100 is 5-years.
The similarities between the disposals include;
- Both have the same power – 0.75 HP
- Both of them comes with a built-in air switch
- Has power cords
- Auto-reverse technology (a jam breaking system which reverses the direction of the motor on detection of jams.)

In my opinion, Evolution 250 is a slightly better choice even though it costs a little more. This is simply owing to the 2-year extra warranty it has.
